First Field Dressing HC135

A brown cotton cover with instructions printed on it. Inside there is two dressings which are a gauze pad stitched onto a long bandage wrapped in a sterile packet. These are wrapped in wax paper with two safety pins.

First field dressings were carried by soldiers in the wound dressing pocket of the trousers or jacket. A dedicated pocket meant dressings were located quickly and those attending the wounds were encouraged to use the casualties dressing first.
